    Opinions on Finnish HP bluing?

    Hi

    I have owned this pistol for some time and I started wondering about the bluing on it. I am absolutely sure it is original, only thinning, but can you have a look and give your opinion on especially the slide's finish? I see no signs of buffing etc, and all marks are crisp. The pistol is like new otherwise, with some minor wear on front and rear strap.

    Nice early Browning. Sometime it is better to have a hands on to determine original finish.

    But yours sure looks like normal ware finish to me. Good to me.

      Slide has the mottled look of being touched up with cold blue. Clean off all the oil and rub one of the mottled areas with your thumb until it becomes warm. Sniff and see if you get the copper sulfate smell.
