    M1 Carbine thoughts/valuation

    Hello all,

I have been recently offered an Inland M1 Carbine at with the serial number 2731787, it was a CMP gun. It has a rounded top bolt, round knob adjustable rear aperture sight, bayonet lug, just to name a few features. I am not the most knowledgeable regarding these guns so from these minor details does this sound correct to the maker? Are CMP m1's desirable/worth very much? And in good condition what is this piece worth? Sorry I cannot post pictures

Where do I look to determine barrel maker?

About an inch below the front sight. It will have the maker, with the month and year below that.

          Should be Underwood Mfgr.

Sorry for the delay, it's been a busy few days. The seller is really bad about pictures and even when I ask for specific shots he doesn't provide them, many are blurry. From what you all know, what would be a good price for at the very least an underwood receiver CMP gun in decent shape? A price I could buy it for and still make a hundred or two if I sold it

If the seller won't provide the pics there must be a reason. Run away!

Also, what is he asking? It is much easier to advise if the asking price is a good buy or too high.

I think he's not technologically capable regarding his reply and photos. He's asking $1000

Just my thoughts, but if you can't see the carbine best to let it go. If you knew it was a legitimate rebuild you would need to get it cheaper if you want to make something on it, but if it is still original condition, a bargain.

                      Worth about $600-700 retail.
