Best sub machine gun of WWII?
My favorite sub machine gun is the STG 44.Last edited by Blitzkrieg70; 05-14-2017, 02:18 PM.

I'd be hard pressed to come up with a real poor example of a sub gun from this period. The only one that comes to mind is the Reising** which was prone to jamming. The Thompson is a great design which was, even in the M1A1 version, too expensive to manufacture and too heavy. To me it's a toss up between the MP40 and the PPS.

**It should be noted that the Reisings served several police departments well after the war when they weren't exposed to the dirt an elements of battlefield conditions.

Pps 43
I have the Polish model PPS 43 which is in semi automatic configuration and unfortunately the stock is welded in the closed position per ATF regulations. I believe if I do the proper paperwork I can legally have this changed into a SBR. I believe at one point the STG 44 was called the MP 44 and shoots a round smaller than the full size 8 mm round. It is technically considered a rifle. I will have to pick the PPS 43 as my preferred submachine gun of WWII.Last edited by Blitzkrieg70; 05-14-2017, 11:44 PM.
