MP44 magazine release button

There are two commonly known types - knurled or concentric rings. Today I was shown a different one that I have never seen before. What do you think? Has anyone seen such one before? The receiver is stamped cos / fxo, serial is 3431v/44 and there are no more pictures available at the moment.

First I have seen of this type.

It is probably just a magazine release button that did not make it through all stages of stamping and was picked up off of the floor and dumped into the finished bucket.

V block would be too early for rushed components being used. My guess is a postwar replacement, VoPo or otherwise, for a damaged button. I have to always remind myself that these rifles only saw a few months service during the war and many decades service postwar where repairs and replacements could be very likely.
