    My latest purchase; Maxim 1910

I've been waiting for this to arrive out of the UK for over a year now, finally got to pick it up last night!

It's an original (live) matching 1943 dated Maxim 1910 MG. The delay was caused by all the red tape and stupid UK laws. But still, its another saved from the butcher!

It came with gunners pouch/tools, spare firing pin, 250 round belts with ammo tins and the oil and condensor cans, plus a service book (in Russian?)

    I'm buzzing right now

Is that original furniture, paint and stamps?????

Lovely piece, but how did you manage to export it? I bet the shipping alone cost a small fortune!

            I'm glad you did !

            Dear Kiwi Collector,

I'm glad you did save this one! I have just exported almost everything I own to Austria to save them from the dreaded UK laws.Believe me Austria is much better!

I just don't want everyone to know in case all the English want to move there !

            Regards Roughshooter

I don't think the paint and stamps are original, it looks like the Yugoslav paint they use. I could be wrong though. As for exporting from the UK, it is still possible just time consuming and costly, luckilly this was only one of several guns in a container so it worked out well.

Here's pictures of what I think is the service book, it's 1950's dated:

You are right, It is Russian Service Book. Interesting that although it is dated 1950, some records made as late as in 1978 and even 1986! I guess, in some movie studio?

                            Nice one

I think the paint is fine. Not WW2 of course, as these weapons have come from reserve rebuilt stock.

                            Cheers, Ade.

                              Thanks Ade,

Apparently one of the entries in the service manual states that it was re-painted.
