They are really nice guns, and I wouldn't mind having either...but I like 1rst model most. That butstock is what really calls my eye.

        Hi All,
Wow Sean that refinish looks great! The changes to your receiver look like some we also made when we were forced to change machines the receivers were finished on. A pain but it allowed us to make updates to the look of the receiver in a couple of areas that needed it.

Hope I can talk you into helping with the type I manual like you did with the type II as it is something we are proud to have with the rifle!

Just wanted to assure you running rounds through your rifle will not hurt it. Sometime last year we sold one to Battle Field Vegas as a rental rifle. Now that will separate things out pretty fast as you know it will be shot some - if it holds together....

I can say honestly I crossed my fingers a bit though as it was just a straight production rifle and although we fired 15k plus through the shop rifle until one out in the wild gets some range time people are want to believe it.
Received this email the other day:
        Rick,

Feel free to mention it being on the range. It's not a super high-round count but it's at least 10,000 rounds and to me, that's pretty amazing. I will be honest and I was just hoping to break even on it before something broke but couldn't be happier with the quality. So many of the reproduction guns on the market use cheap parts or cut corners because mfg's don't have the budget that governments did when originally designing the weapon.

Put us down for another rifle as I definitely want another.

So even though they may occasionally have a glitch we did try to build them to last!

Thanks Rick! I'd be more than happy to help the team again.
Here's a small update to my build. I wanted to create a magazine closer to the original type 2 FG42 mag. I used the original ZB26 mag and reskinned it to have the same smooth front of the mag and to change the shape and number of ribs on the body ( the originals only had 2) I used a g43 floor plate which is very similar to the type 2's. I know this is getting obsessive but I really think a correct looking mag is icing on the cake. I've also included a couple pics of this magazine and a type 1 mag for comparison.
