Reference for use of captured weapons

Can anyone recommend a reference (book or web page) which details the use of captured weapons by Germany during WWI and WWII? Specifically, I'm trying to find out if Germany used any captured French weapons from the Franco-Prussian War during WWI? I recently acquired an 1868 dated Chassepot bayonet with Imperial German regimental markings.

Hi Doug, my website is the only one I know of that shows any German use of captured weapons. there are some books that do, and one is listed as a creditor on my site, but I don't know the names offhand. I did recently post a photo on one of my pages of free French troops fighting on the Ost Front for Germany one of which had a French rifle.
    the site again is:Site
