    A Surplus Military Rifle Quiz

A friend was offered these rifles.
I told him that they weren't worth much.
I thought that the one on the left was an FN49, but I may be wrong.
I also thought that the 4th from left was an early Enfield MK 1 or 2??
There is overlap of the rifles in both pictures.
There are a total of eight rifles from left to right.
Anyone want to give it a try??
    Thanx,
    Tim

(PS- I told him not to offer more than $150 per rifle, except for the one that I thought was an FN49. It's just because I have a weak spot for them. I think they are neat looking, but I'm not even sure that that is an FN!)

On a side note, I picked up three surplus military rifles today, along with three surplus military bayonets, but mine are all of the WW2 German variety.
I'll do a thread tomorrow after I get some pictures going.

The one on the left is an Egyptian Hakim, currently trading at around $800. The rest are worth more than $150 each.
The one you described as an Enfield appears to be a French Berthier.

Nope, the Hakim is a copy of the Swedish ljungman rifle.

First from the right looks like a mosin carabine. Third from the right looks like a modified Spanish post war Mauser. Third from the left like a Mosing-nagant. Hope it helps.

first on the left is hakim as said before.
the fourth looks like a Berthier but the end of the barrel is like a schutzen.
maybe a particular model or it lacks the end of the barrel on the pic

Their was a time when you could buy Mosin-Nagant rifles all day long for a hundred bucks or less. Nowadays they are selling for much more. A search on the Web will give you an idea what they are worth.

And the winner for best ID and value, from another Forum, on Face Book, is this post...

Hakim (500), gew 88 (250-300), mosin m91/30 (225-250), berthier 1907-15 updated to 5 shot (250-300), steyr m95 carbine (225-250), short little mauser, not sure what type, but I'd guess (300-400), steyr m95 long rifle (250-300) and mosin m44, assuming common variant (250-300)

The Mauser is perhaps the "Persian" variety but without better pictures it's hard to say for sure. if it is Persian it will have the Iranian chamber crest and the lettering will be in Arabic.
                    These will bring $400-$500.

                      Swedish Jungman

I could be wrong but I think the rifle on the far left is a Swedish Jungman. First the magazine looks smaller due to the caliber of 6.55 x 55 on the Jungman compared to the larger magazine on the 8 mm Hakim. Most Hakims were heavily used and it is usually not common to find one in the condition below. Swedish Jungmans typically are found in excellent condition. Check the caliber. If it is 6.5 x 55 it is a Swedish Jungman. If it is 8 mm then I am wrong and it is an Egyptian Hakim.

It's a Hakim, the Ljungman ag42b has a different type bolt carrier cover. You can also see it has the prominent Hakim muzzle brake.
