    Mauser 1878 revolver holster

This revolver was a bring back by my father from WW2. He passed away more than 50 years ago so I don't know the full story.
The holster was always around when I was a kid but I never thought of the two being connected.
Then recently I was looking at the holster and it just clicked in my mind that it looks like the revolver would fit it nicely.
The holster is very stiff so I wrapped the pistol in plastic to try a fit.
I can't find any information about what holster is correct for the pistol.
Can anyone tell me if this is the correct holster for a Zig Zag?
Is there any conditioning that can be done to clean and revive the leather?

    Thanks,
    JW
