Byf 41

Looking at buying a fully matching P08 BYF code 41 (non black widow). I was wondering what I should be looking at price wise. The prices on these are so varied from seller to seller it can be a bit overwhelming..

What im looking for 95 percent or better finish, 41 year of production, non import marked and fully matching (except magazine)...

Also does anyone know a good honest seller to buy a luger from these days?

$2500, + or - $300

That is the most realistic price range that you can hope for. I would suggest that while we all use the % metric to describe finish........there is a lot more to it that just the % that remains, if you would want to put a fine point on it.

i was looking at lugers at sos show. a nice byf 41 with nice checkerd walnut grips matching without matching magazine . appox. 97% blue was 2500$... if matching mag and hoslter add 1000$. lugers are fairly common to find at big shows but its tough to find minty ones and some dealers are very high retail. just plain tough to get some of these guys to price deal. also some of the nicer guns have had a tune up to the finish. always nice to do a hands on inspection..you might be able to find one at vegas gun show. heard there is good collector stuff there..you may get a better deal if you find a motivated seller that wants to sell now...

I had bought a byf 41 black widow for 1600 three months ago but the finish was like 80%. I ended up selling it back to the original seller.. I just need to be patient im willing to pay 2500 for the gun you described but many of the lugers i see are touched up with a blue pen and i don't like that (like you mentioned)... I've been researching lugers for the past two years so im pretty aware of what to look for.

I guess I just need to keep watching if I'm patient im sure i'll find one i like for a somewhat fair price..
