Hello folks. Thought I'd toss this up for your perusal...A recent flea market find, and I believe, intended for the Luger (P08), as the internal labels would dictate. The exterior of the box has "Luftdichter PatronenKasten" (air-tight cartridge case) stencil, and above this, the remnants of what appears to be a name, in hand-painted letters (presumably, the name of the US serviceman who likely "liberated" this case)...maybe it was once full of his souvenirs?? Anyway, the box itself is quite clean, has it's original hardware, to include the internal metal tray (which has a coat of red paint on the underside). It's not the first WWII vintage German ammo crate I've ever run across, but the first one designated for the "Pistole-08". A few quick snaps below, and thanks in advance for any feedback.
