    MG34 / MG42 webbing slings - pre May 1945?

    Hello,

I'm looking to find out some more info regarding the webbing carry slings for the MG34/42.... Many that I have seen over the years were described as post war, but I have also seen those said to be wartime.

So, were any of these slings ever made pre May 1945?

    Best regards,
    P.

I have not seen a believable wartime example.

Have you checked the information on "Bergflak's" web-page (?).

          Thanks guys for the comments.

Richard, I have indeed seen Bergflak's site, which is very useful, but the info around webbing slings is also contradictory to what is published in F. Myrvangs Vol 1.

thats really a good question!I have no idea if it has really given webslings.i have never seen a websling where i can say that this one was an original.
you need a good proof for there existence from a safe source.

                    MG34/42 web sling

I have no doubt that they existed. I know a sample found added to an MG42, hidden in the attic found when a house was demolished a lot of years ago. They also exist for MG34.
