Wow that is a lot of stuff. I don't know if I would store all the live ammo and mines like he does, but it is his choice.

I really laughed at the T54 being a tank "the Russians used to fight the Nazis/Germans in WW2." While I guess it is possible, but I thought there was only 1 prototype out before the war ended.

There's apparently another side to this guy as reported by his daughter and others. I'd suggest everyone do some checking before you canonize him as a firearms collecting deity!

Yes, you are correct. The first prototype of the T54 was completed in March 1945 and it would have been too late to participate in any action in WW2. The real production only commenced in 1947 so his T54 never saw any "Nazi's". If it was a KV-1 or IS then yeah perhaps, that's a different story but the T54 was a pure cold war beast.

I researched it a bit more, evidently they have reconciled since then . That's the problem with airing dirty family laundry in public these days . His wife of 33 years was killed by a rocket during a filming and he remarried quickly .....root of the original problem since divorced .

His name is Mel Bernestein originally a Jewish kid from Brooklyn NY of a humble background . He worked on motorcycles in his brothers Bike shop , became a biker
Gang member then got out . Drafted during Vietnam did not go to Vietnam , got out early . A bit of a checkered past , but seems not enough to keep him from being a class III dealer .

Probably saved a lot of stuff from the smelter either way .

My take is he is either a smart or ruthless businessman ......or both.

His knowledge is a mile wide and inch deep, anybody else notice that he held up straight-pull Steyr M95 ammo and claimed that it was for the MG42? Also that fully operational jap type 99 MG looks like it has a torch cut in the receiver... lots of cool stuff, but he really doesn't know what he is talking about in detail on a fairly high percentage....

He probably has so much stuff that at his age he forgets what is what. I'm sure I would.
