Fortunately, most punters who saw that MP at Stoneleigh, shook their heads when they looked at the price tag.Alas, theres always someone thatll justify the sellers greed.More fool for paying it.Even i,as a complete newcomer, knew it was a blatant rip off.

If you want to sell you items it might just be worth looking at getting a table at a show and selling them that way, I done a few UK shows back in the mid 90s and it was fine, just plan in advance everyone will want to touch the mp40! had a buddy with me to help keep an eye

        Goodbye MP40.

Hi, funny old world, I was talking to chap the other day who was round at my place to buy some items and mentioned Stoneleigh and the price of MP40s and the fact that I might sell my gun. He asked to have a look at it. Offered me cash on the spot and there it was gone! Not my favourite gun I must admit but it broke my heart to see it leave, it was a in fine condition but not matching numbers and cost me £350 with some fake pouches. I've not sold my stuff till recently but I'd rather spend my money on travel abroad and concentrate on only collecting the winter camo clothing. Best regards David.

The price is whatever people will pay. If a seller asks for a price and gets it, then good for him.

I agree! This is not possible. cnd and cos were only subcontractors.

Dealers often cater to those who don't have the time to search for particular items....The good ones (dealers) often charge big premiums for their services....Just look once what Bill Shea (ruptured duck) charges for his items....Bodes

You also have to understand that the law changed last year!!

In Holland it allways was forbidden to own deko pistols, semi-auto guns, mp's and mg's.....

Only recently it is made possible to own them (new EU law)... only it has to come with a certificate from a EU certified approval authority......

Now these authorities have loads and loads of work..... so it can take months and months to get an item certified.... which means if you can buy a de-activated weapon WITH certificate, it will cost you .....

Probably prices will go down again.... but thats a guess

                        Mp40

                        Hi,

As to whether it is possible to have an all-matching MP40 with "cnd" and "cos" markings? Yes it is - my very first MP40 was an "fxo 41" (Haenel) which had parts by these subcontractors.

                        Regards,

                        Grossfuss

I stand corrected, just did some more research and found pictures of an example such as you mention. The two codes will not appear on the same part, but it is true that they can be on different parts on the same gun.

it is not only perfectly possible, it was very common!
                              Best regards,

Good example why you have to take any "internet advice" with a grain of salt. Many people do not feel they need to hold back in giving advice despite their lack of knowledge. See this in many fields, not just here.

Worst thing is when people jump on a bandwagon to show of "their expertise" and start agreeing with a false statement and then it happens again (me too syndrome) and suddenly with the consensus of 3 so called "experts" a complete falsehood will become "common knowledge".
