Price of deact mp40 and lafette.

Attended the recent Stoneleigh show over here in England the only show I attend these days. Walking around I was quite surprised at the price of some of the equipment for sale. Two deact MP40s were both for sale at £3,800 and on the same stand a Lafette for sale £3,300. Whilst I was hovering at the stand cash was being handed over for one of these guns plus other related pieces. Not attending shows these days has maybe left me out of touch with prices. Although I was quite pleased when I asked him what he was buying in at, £2,000 was the reply. Maybe it's time to sell my MP40 and other weapons while the going is good?

I paid 1800 for my dummy MP40 built with a mismatched parts kit and alum receiver last Fall.

      Selling for £3800 buying for £2000 that's a hell of a markup

I do not know why people go to dealers for deacs, there's plenty for sale privately - if you are patient and search in the right places

Dealer prices are for the impatient.

I have just sold my 1941 armoured scout car but decided to keep the 2x30 and 1x50. A dealer offered me 3k for the 3 cheeky buggers. 3x early ww2 deacts plus tripods for 3k. I wonder what they would sell them for.

Here is mine I have for decades it's a cnd Mp 40 deactivated with old specs by French law and AN (French deact) stamp from MAS St Étienne ..
Mismatching numbers but in good shape worn moving parts ..
I'm thinking to sell it because I'm not too much in firearms..
I can provide more pictures if needed for appraisal..

I was working in London in 1996 and bought an all matching deact MP40 from a dealer for GBP175 and they had loads of them.

                Times have changed!!

That was a great deal in 1996 as I am sure they were selling for 800-900 even then.

I hear you! Add in early MG34's in the same price bracket.

                            Hi,

Henrik Rask just sold a MP40 for 2000 euros... So i think the sellers of Stoneleigh show are just showing that they want to fool idiots...

I bought a new spec MP 40 from I think Ryton Arms in 1997 and it was £175. I sold it 4 years later for 400. Norwegian surplus I believe
