    Chronology MG34 stock

    hello,
For my study of MG34 parts, I make a small call to the members who possess one or more MG34 stock.

    The accepted chronology is:
    -Walnut stock
    -Reinforced bakelite stock
    -Bakelite stick without reinforcement
    -beech stock

But the chronology of all this is not particularly known. Also all manufacturers of MG34 seems to have a different timeline.
I would like to make a synthesis of the serial numbers and waffenamts that have little to find on the stocks.
For this, I would need a precise picture like the following example.

Thank you in advance for your help

Sorry for my english but i use google translation.
    best regards

    Hello gurt,

I can only help with those I posted at that other MG34 buttstock thread. My bakelite ones don't have a WaA. Perhaps there are other stamps you might like to see...

          Hello Carles,
I remember this post. The chrononology is good but it is imprecise with the manufacturers of MG34. Who uses what and when.

The accessories without waffenamt and without serial number, I attribute them to "dot" for the years 1942/43 IMO
With my database that I just started, I can say that:

steyr: in 1941 mount bakélite renforced.

gustloff: 1940/41 mount bakelite reforced and 1942 bakelite simple with serial number index j.

maget: 1942 mount bakelite renfoced with serial number index d

mauser: 1938 mount walnut with SN 4712, mount 1939 SN index a and 1940 SN index b mount bakelite renforced

brünnen waffen fabrik: mount 1941 bakelite renforced.

You could consider the stamps inside the bakelite butts. The have "Materialprüfungsamt" stamps, that could give you a clue of their production date and material used.

              hello,
You're right Carles. But I already have trouble finding volunteers to make a picture just the butt, so a picture of the inside is impossible.

I've got four or five but only two are numbered to the MGs. Too dark now for some pics but along the week i shall shoot some for you. I'm making lists of Doppeltrommel mags an it is very slow sometimes. Nordbaden has been a great help there also

Ups, I forgot about the buttstocks... I'll try to have a look. Of 5 or 6 I have only 2 are numbered, the rest are Weffenmeister kind.

                              Hello gurt,

I have openned 3 of 5 and this is the result, first a butt on a 1943 dot MG34, Spanish contract original and numbered to the weapon. It is plain bakelite.:
