    Mauser kar98 value?

This is in good condition, is wood stock with a clean bore. Its marked 1943. The stock had previously snapped but was repaired and had a metal bolt inserted inside, you can see the repair seam in the pictures.

Can anyone give me a valuation of this rifle on the current market? I know the market is getting dryer and the value will only increase in time so I may just sit on it as an investment.

It's a Russian Captured. Mismatched rifle, The bolt is from a Portugese imo.
Its not a collector piece but only a shooter. Max 300$

    All the best

How can you tell if the bolt is Portugese? I originally purchased this for ~$650 CAD (~485 USD) about 3-4 years ago. I suppose I may have over paid, thought the rifle would be worth more.

The number on the bold is the give away.
Sorry that you paid to much.
For 1200$ you can find an original one.

Made up of parts, broken repaired butt, Russian capture renumbered...200 or 250€? not more. It is not an investment. If you are lucky, in 20 years time it might reach what you paid for it.

You might get $400-$500 for it here in California.

Thats more reasonable. Im in Canada and was told kar98's are more easier to get and would sell for less in the states. Any recommended gun sites to sell it at?

Did the German bolts not have numbers stamped on the bolt? Curious on how you its Portuguese.

Anyone have any knowledge as well on the factory it was made in? on the receiver it says 1943 and above it "act" -sic. I checked online and could not find any info on this "act" marking.

                  Hi,
Defiantly one to shot the hell out of,I hate firing them a pig of a rifle imo.
For collectability you need one more like mine.
All matching never refinished, dare I say near mint.

Looks beautiful! When you say its a pig are you saying its got a kickback when shooting?

One paranoia I have with a lot of collector rifles are rebranded / marked parts to increase the value. I had a neighbor who worked in a machine shop and he had collectors come in to laser engrave and re purpose German equipment / rifles so they can come off as matching.

                        Hi,
Rest assured this one is not renumbered,
The kick back as you say is what I was referring to,never shoot this one,I had another for shooting, ,the amount of flames from the end and the raise of the barrel is terrible, got rid of my shooter and replaced with a modern gun, will keep this one as a closet queen.
