    sauer picked up today

I picked up my Sauer 38h yesterday.
This is the first one I have owned, and it is a very nice little gun.
The decocker/cocker is one of the neatest I have seen.
the gun came with a eagle c on the left front trigger guard, eagle n on rear slide right side. and same on the frame just above the serial no.
There is also an eagle n on the right side of the bbl. the las three digits of the serial no are stamped on the underside of the front of the slide. you can still make out one number [the farthest to the right when you are looking at it. something has worn a line in the steel but you can still see the number. the other 2 are fine. and it matches the last three of the frame.
finish is bright blue worn and thinning in the usual spots.
over all a very nice gun. the mag. is marked with the intertwined ss. and the cal. and a large 1 from all that I can find police mags had 1s marked on them. any ways a very nice little gun.

Both E/c marked 38H sauers I had had had magazines serialed to their respective pistols, don't know how true that would hold to be later in the war. I would advise you to shoot it little as the double actionon the sauer 38H is damn delicate and super hard to get DA parts for them when they break.

What is the serial number!? and what type of mags do you have? The Sauer 38 (or model H for you politically correct bastards!), came with about 7 or 8 different types of magazines! Serial numbers will determine which magazine is correct for your gun.

If the magazines aren't serial numbered, that is ok. These weren't always done, as this was done by the issuing Police unit themselves, and was not done at the Sauer factory. Certainly matching mags are a great accessory though for a Police marked pistol.

Certainly it is ulitmately up to the owner if they wish to shoot it, but I say, go ahead and plug away with it!
The model H I shoot is very reliable, and extremely accurate. Never jams, and never misses!

BTW- Do you have a Police holster for it?
