The smg E series is in R&D currently. They have a working prototype.

      >There are two groups that I know that make some parts and may make production E series guns. I also think that they may be working a bit together. One is Chuck Kramer at Gunlabs.net. I think he makes a few parts for SMG. and SMG is the other group looking at making a E series.

Yes, I know about both these outfits and neither could have made that forward grip prior to the posting of the pics, and both are in the US. My question was directed to the original poster and anyone in Europe since the post originated there. I didn't make that clear. Is there an outfit in Europe or elsewhere overseas that has made repro FG parts for either model that might have made that foregrip or front sight?
Leon Crotett in Switzerland is the only Machinist that I know of capable of doing that.
Anyone interested in the FGs should look up his story and pictures of his creations as he is a wizard Machinist without peer.

IMO you see a lot more variations among the various LwA acceptance stamps than you do the WaA stamps. I find the LW guns fun to collect for many reasons, including the wide variety of markings on them.

Here are the markings on my MG17 (to contrast with the earlier MG17 markings shown in a prior post w/in this thread).

Back to FG's: Playing around on GunBroker this morning, I observed that there is a guy here in the U.S. making some reproduction FG parts (including the wooden handguards). That said, the example shown in the OP is original (IMO) as it shows the correct age and wear patterns.

I had the handgard in question in my hands some weeks ago, and it looked and more important felt the same as my original one.

So, if anyone knows of a current european or overseas maker of 1st moel FG42 parts, please post what you know.
There have been several US makers of FG parts over the years, 'FG42man' for instance who has a picture of a 1st model foregrip mounted in a lathe on the Gunbroker site, but again, he is in the US.
The original poster is from europe and evidently acquired the parts over there, so for them to be repro, it is most likely that the maker is not in the US.
            Just curious if anyone knows…….
