    RUSSIAN 7.62 pistol ammo

Bill, Thanks for posting. Forgive my ignorance, but is this the round the Russians used in the PP SH machine pistol? A good friend of mine told me that this was a very "hot" pistol round, much more powerful than 9mm. Could someone post a pic of one of these rounds?

Hope to see you at the SOS,
    John

Ronnie, Is 100% correct do not use Russian 7.62 pistol ammo in Mauser BroomHandles, it is to hot of a load for the Mauser pistol..BILL

They are 16 rounds per packet stacked side by side, one round up and one round down.. They came in a sealed zinc box of 50 16 round packets for a total of 800 rounds per zinc tin.. I have the zinc box around here some where and will take a pict of it when it surfaces, the box has the Russian writing on it for 7.62 pistol ammo and the arsenal of manuf...... BILL

I know a lot of people who use commercial(S&B) 7.62 x 25 in their broomhandles, but never the surplus stuff. Much too hot as most of it is Subgun ammo.

These "boxes" of 7.62mmX 25mm are they paper folded to hold the rounds or are they cardboard boxes ? , also what are the dimensions in all 3 planes ?, thanks for your time and trouble, you have helped me so much so far and I thank you all very much .

The 7.62x25 surplus rounds seem to work well in the surplus Czech. M-52 pistols out on the market. Excellent penetration, but a bit of a bark I am told.

                          Hi!
I have three of theese rounds.
One is marked 8 [star] 45
                          Second: | 53 bxn
Third: 54 bxn (this one is green)
Thie first one is Soviet-made and no.2 and 3 are postwar Czechoslovak?

they were also used in the Tokerov-33, MN Revolver, Makarov and nearly every other Soviet-era pistol

Makarow is 9mm, same as most other comunist block pistols.
As I know only TT use 7,62 (except SMG of course)
