    Italian Beretta Holster

I have a Model 1934 Beretta coming in the mail. Been looking for a CORRECT Italian holster for it without any luck. Does anyone know of a good source. My book says some were Black, Green, Web material and some were marked.

    Any ideas ?

    Don,

Most are Green, and are break away types. Also, there is another style that looks almost identicle to the CZ27 holster that you can use as well.

Don, Here are a few holsters for the M34/35 Beretta.. Sorry I don't have any for sale.. Do you have a Italian royal Army model??? The green canvass holster with the Italian WW2 grey/green leather is ww2 period, and not to be mistaken with the 1950s period copy in yellowish Khaki web material with british P37 belt attaching hooks.. This is misnomered in Bender's book MILITARY HOLSTERS OF WW2 on page 127 as a Desert campaign Tropical holster...BILL

The pistol will be marked RE (Royal Army). I use Bender's book as much as possibe to identify different holsters. Since the pistol is dated 1936, I would assume a leather would be correct for it. Now to find one. Sometimes I think a decent correct holster is harder to find than the pistols.

Thanks to you and Matt for the help

                Hello Bill,

that canvas/webbing holster is a very nice item indeed. Pardon my ignorance of Italian items, but would it be a tropical or economy item?

Nice selection as per usual .

Hello Patrick, It is of a tropical pattern well done with Green leather reinforcments.. I have seen one pict. of one at a airdrome in Lybia the pict was dated 1942 and there were a mixture of Caproni aircraft and some BF109s, on the field.. The holster was on a Italian officer.. See you Tuesday in Concord... BILL

                    Hi Bill,

I have seen on of two of those brownish ones you mentioned, not that I am a collector but you advise they are post war copies. Were they copied and sold as originals or copies to be used post war?
                    Regards

                      holsters

They were part of a new issue of British style equipment for the Italians in the 50s, along with Garand style ctg. belts and other styles of ammo pouches.. They are frequently on ebay as ww2 Italian tropical issue.. THEY ARE NOT WW2 ISSUE, even though similar to the ww2 issue ones the 1950s pattern have brown leather reinfrocments and British style type 37 hooks for attachment to belts... BILL
