      I had one several years back that had been issued to an Army Chaplain, it was 100% matching since the war but the Chaplain had never used it, just carried it from post to post. But that has to be an exception and not the rule. Most of these guns that I am offered have been tinkered with to the ninth degree.

        Oddly enough the M1 Carbine is one of those WWII weapons that you can find in unmolested condition quite often. Where the unaltered M1 Garand is like hen's teeth.

            The M1 Carbine was much smaller and easier to hide. Over the years around my town I have seen 5 or 6 Carbines brought back by veterans, but never a M1 Rifle.
