Is this a good K98 sling?

    Hello guys,

I am completely new to K98 slings and even though this one looks good to me I do have some doubts because of the missing crossline print on the leather and also if I am correct period ones don't have a black painted metal "slider" (or how is this piece called??) but mine is painted black.

So I hope to learn some more here as well as getting good news about mine being original.
    Thanks in advance

One pic is taken in daylight...and then the batteries from my camera went dead so the other pics are with artificial light.

Thanks HAF! Do you perhaps know about this so-called story that originals don't have this black painted metal slide/buckle? Or is it just one of this false stories going around?

i dont konw this story ,but may tell you that the black paint was done most perhaps in post war depots.as you can often found on k98 pouches from russia

So this means mine also comes from a Russian depot you think? Wouldn't they stamp the sling somewhere?

Thanks a lot for your help and time HAF!

Will make daylight pics tomorow to show the black paint and hope to figure out if this is original wartime slightly worn off paint or postwar added "protective" paint.

Thank you Matt. I was aware of that website and did check of course, prior to posting here. But that one didn't give me the answers I needed so I hoped to learn more here.
