I recently acquired this French 38 Rimfire pistol out of an estate. So far I've been able to determine the caliber(38 Rimfire) and maker Gaubert Brevete but little else. It is a single shot and opens when the under lever is depressed. I searched and only found scant information but this is what I did find. This is a scarce maker and the pistol is circa 1870. The pistol is lightly engraved all over which doesn't show up very well and in excellent operating condition. The sole example I found for sale had an asking price of 1700 Euro. I would appreciate any additional information and in particular what the fair market value may be.
