    ww 1 marine flaregun with regimental marking

    today got this nice brass german flaregun regimental marked .
    48.I.R.2.B.3. . got a month ago another unknown flare gun with
    48 infanterie regiment markings . well marked anchor and crown
    also a marine issued at first and after it is in use 48 infanterie regiment
    what a coincidence to find in one month 2 flareguns from one regiment .

        Perhaps for the naval units used as land troops towards the end of the war? I guess the markings were applied to the breech because the grip strap was too narrow or would bend if struck with the stamps and hammer?

          infanterie regiment von stülpnagel nr 48 2 batailon waffe 3
          or other opinions ?
