I don't know if this contraption was real or just a one of a kind gadget.......purpose...anti-aircraft, I guess...or......you judge...effectiveness.....dubious at best.....useful....???????

The guy in the pic could quite easily be a Hiwi, ethnic Russian in service with the wehrmacht, common practice for them to be in support roles to free up combat strength to the front line, or even in the frontline itself.
