    Oil it and leave it as found ...hope it answers the exact question asked. (if you like to use things ) Take it out and shoot it, be sure to clean the gun thoroughly after for the next time it is used. Happy shooting.(if you are in the usa)

      At gun shows over the years, I have seen many firearms, bayonets, spikes, uniform jackets, boots, brass knuckles, whips, scissors, letter openers, and so forth that "have BLOOD on them from THE WAR!"

      100% of what I have seen appears to be rust and corrosion from improper handling and storage. But when it appears in specks and drops, it is always BLOOD!

      So, I would be very interested in seeing an actual wartime piece that is untouched since '46 with honest to God blood on it.
