                    Bill,

There are probably a dozen different manufatures or more and that has pre-war commercial proofs which it should have, but these really dont have military proofs for the most part, unless I dont see it a standard waffnampt proof does not dictate police.

Jarrid, Bill's rifle has the wartime E/N proof and the acceptance stamp lower and to the left of the E/N in the photo is a police acceptance E/C. There was a nice contract from the Police to Gustloff for the production of these. The police also used the Walther Sportmodell, the DSM 34 and the 625c.

                        Joe,

I see an eagle but did not see an e/c, I dont know how large a contract it was but I have not seen one.

                        Bill,

If you like these I do get them, but if you want KKW guns only they are scarce. I just had a mint dsm-34, prices are rising for nice pieces.

                        Thanks,

                        Jarrid

Jarrid, I really can't fault you for not seeing it as only the eagle wings are clear in photos 3 & 5. I "saw" it because I knew it was there. The Gustloff contract began with the W625c guns in pre-war, then some production in the mid 230,000 range, then in the 240,000, some in 250,000 and 270,000. I have not recorded many, but then I haven't been around that much. Walther had a large contract and produced them in the DSM34 and Sportmodell for the police. I had sold off several duplicates at past Show of Shows. I have kept the best of each, including a consecutive pair of police marked Walther Sportmodells.

                            Joe,

Yes I know the 625s and Dsms as they are more common, but had to actually go to the book on this one as I could not remember a police acceptance on a KKW, I had 2 in the 240xxx range with Sa cartouched stocks and loved them, all 3 models are great, its been a while for me on these as well.

That little smallbore book is a great reference on these, and the pre-war commercials as well, and once you get your hands on one its tuff to let them go.

I would reccomend it to anyone considering a collection of these rifles, they are very neat

                            Enjoy the rifle!!

                            Jarrid
