    My first collectable:

This is the rifle I started my collection with, a Mosin Nagant 91/30 PU sniper. This one was manufactured in 1944 at the Izhevsk arsenal. At some point in it's life it was refurbished and issued to the Polish army. During that service or at the end the Russian PU scope that would have been originally with the rifle was replaced by a Polish manufactured one. Since then I've replaced the scope with a 1943 dated Russian one.

Very very nice! Looks great. After trying one of these I went out and bought myself a Mosin Nagant, without scope though.

What does it say on the chamber under the 3 lines? BNO?

On the chamber above the 2nd serial number are British Nitro Proof marks. Since a lot of guns come to NZ via the UK these are common here.
