And here is what it looks like from the outside.........

I know it has been said loads of time before, but i really envy you guys who can own and fire your live weapons.
It must be great to fire a few round from a Luger.....

      Oh well, dream on............

      All the best,
      Steve.

          Hi Gew98,
There is not much difference with pistols and rifles regarding new/old spec deactivation.
It really comes into play with sub-guns.
Old spec weapons (pre '95) have all moving parts and can be stripped down.
New spec are welded up so the bolt does not move, i have even seen one with the mag welded in.........

For some time now there has been a rumer that all deacs will be welded up, auto/semi auto pistols, revolvers and rifles.

Just have to hope this never happens

          Steve.

            Steve,

Thanks for the info Steve, as well as the very graphic photos. We should rate this thread NC17 or something?

If you are ever on this side of the pond, please stop by, and I'll be happy to take to our local range, and cap off a few rounds!

            Matt

                aarrgghh!

I lost a Browning rabbit-ear 16 gauge double-barrell shotgun that way (my grandpa's), back in 1969... not a "firearm's amnesty" but something close. I commisserate in sympathy...

                Cheers, Ade.

In the late 70's and early 80's I had a firearms certificate and would go and let a few rounds off on the range, I had a WWII Luger and a 9mm PPK. When the handgun ban came into place in the mid 80's I was in Australia, the Police went to my house in the UK and seized my pistols, when I returned I claimed compensation for them but didn't receive a bean . I hate to think how many historical weapons were destroyed at that time .
As for this Luger I'm thinking of putting it on e-stand as I only collect WWII, could some of you guys give your opinion on what would be a fair price would be for the complete set. Thanks Tim.
