MP 40 barrel nut removal help.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to who would be a good one to get an MP 40 barrel nut unscrewed off the cut off receiver tube section of an MP 40 parts kit. I have a dummy reciever tube to mount it on, but cannot get the nut loose. Can a gun smith do it? Does he know which way to unscrew the thing? . Anyone know who can do this for cheap? Thanks!

As Robert mentioned, use a vice, penertrating oil and wrench, I would put a piece of leather between the nut and wrench to stop any damage to the nut. Tim.

If its on a cut of section, go ahead and put the cut part in a vise, and it will come off with a large wrench, on my live 40's, I pad the vise, and remove the nut, it will loosen when firing unless its tight, and most large wrenches wont hurt the nut.

Should not be too hard to remove it. If it is really tight, some applied heat might be a good idea. I agree with the post above, a little penetrating oil, a good wrench with a snug fit and a long pipe should do the trick!
