Holster

Could use some help identifying this holster. It came on a WWII German army belt but it has no markings at all that I can find. It fits my PPK but is fairly tight, including the magazine pocket. It looks like it had very little use and maybe it is not WWII or even German, but I'm hoping someone knows and can help. Thanks in advance!

Can anybody make even a wild guess as to whether this is WWII and what it fits? Even knowing if it was German or Italian or eastern European or whatever would be helpful. Somebody out there must have an opinion at least, which is better than mine! Thanks for looking.

You haven't provided any dimensions or even another object of known size to compare it with. With no markings as well there is scant information to base an opinion upon. I will state the following: Generic holsters were crafted that would house a variety of small pistols and could be an example.

Thanks for your reply Jim. I said it snugly fits my PPK so I guess I thought that would give a basic dimension, but I apologize for the lack of information. It measures 8 inches top to bottom and 6 inches side to side. If there is any other information I can provide please let me know. Thanks again for looking.

For many years I have collected and studied holsters used by the Norwegian police during the war. A completely different type of holster but – but – during these years I have seen many photos but never encountered a German WWII holster with this kind of closing mechanism! Have anyone else?
