K98 Ammo Stiil In Box w/Large Box

Hi: I recently purchased six (6) boxes of K98 8mm bullets and each box has 15 rounds. The seller states the the rounds were made by Hirtenberg 1940. On the inside of each small box is embossed "Casack&Co. 1939". Each round is stamped "P635 S* 39 40". I don't know that much about German K98 ammo.

Do they look correct....as far as original? I thought they were....I invested approx $50 for the entire group of six boxes and the larger outer box.... But I just wanted the know if they're good and worth the price I paid. Thank you and again....I apologize for the "off" pictures.

Ww2 ammo that's wartime shooter ammo was usually .10 to .15 a round . It has a percentage if shot that is a failure rate( duds) .
Of course if sold as collector ammo to collectors who would be from country's that allow ownership of ammo, such as the USA..you might see what kind of offers you get for each 15 round box....if you got 15. A box that would be 1.00 a round, and x 6 would yield you a profit , but you might have trouble finding buyers for all the boxes, so I'd say you paid retail IMO, but if you could get comittments to buy them all and you do not have to send them through the mail, which I am unsure you can do legally, that would be best, or take them to a show and sell them there would be Easier.( but then you have table costs etc)
Problem is it's likely you may sell a box or two , and still have four boxes to turn to make anything on. Good luck.

I'd happily pay three times that amount for this set! The large outer box alone is often put up for sale at around 70-80 euros by some dealers.

My suggestion is before you damage any of the boxes look online to see what empty ammunition boxes are selling for. A friend of mine was making as much or more from empty ammunition boxes as full ones.

Thanks for your comments....I appreciate. When I was looking on line...which isn't always the best but gives you an idea...I saw crazy prices just for empty boxes. I personally like that the large box matches the small boxes which are in nice shape. I've had K-98 ammo before but the ammo was in an ammo pouch on clips. Again....Thank you for your comments...

I have a full box like your outer box still sealed full of ammo.. I believe I paid $175 at the time? but I got a good deal

they are not easy to find.
                    ammo looks correct.

Just goes to show ammo and collectible ammo has gotten crazy. I think I have several full boxes ( long box) stored away, but it's been some years since I bought them.
I am not looking to buy, but glad you got good news, just be careful of mailing it overseas, I think that's still illegal, but if the boxes go for crazy money sell em ,or maybe save them and get a rifle to add to the ammo.

By the way there were SS marked 98 ammo also with the runes, I'm sure someone here has some to show, so look at ammo before passing for these head stamps .
