    1911A1 Remington Rand

Here is my recently purchased 1911A1. I would like to know if the finish is original.
    Thanks in advance :-)

Appears that the finish might be original, but photos not sharp enough to tell. The right side receiver markings are a good place to start. All the markings were applied before finish, meaning they were sandblasted and then phosphate finished. The serial number was applied after finish, and the marking should be much sharper.

This closeup of a Remington Rand shows the markings before and after finish.

I stand by my earlier assertion.

Thanks for the photo. I am not an expert, but INHO looks completely un messed. Nice original Remington Rand manufactured in 1944

I too do think it is original finish.
                          Is it live or deact?
                          Nice accesories too

Nice 1911 you have. It's a true icon of WWII. Martin
