        Giel,

It depends on what you are after, and paying! It looks like a Russian capture, that is judging by the "X" above the serial. Interesting that it's also marked "X" on the barrel. Could it be an "X" block?

        Do any other parts match?

27 is the code for Erma, I believe, a little more desireable code, by some people's opinion, for what that's worth.

          I suspect...

The first dead giveaway is the the letter 'X' stamped into the barrel and receiver !

I suspect this rifle is a Russian capture gun that has been re-worked, and re-blued.Really more pictures are required but I don't think the stock is 1939 because it has a cupped buttplate and is not walnut but laminated.

I would also bet a months wages that is doesn't have matching numbers eithers and that the main serial number is electro penciled all over the gun.

That said the gun looks pretty and you have to have a good look up the inside of the barrel at the bore of the gun. Do you want to shoot it ? These guns make excellent shooting guns if the bore is good, and it generally is on many of them.

Don't pay anymore than around 350 euros.

Just my 4 penneth open to the floor !

It looks like the rifle has been through a post war German Beschussamt also.

Giel, I agree with what's already been said....Appears to be a Russian capture redo job....The stock should be solid walnut with a flat sheet metal buttplate if original....If you want just an example/shooter and the price is reasonable, go for it....I personally would NOT pay more than $250 for one of these....Bodes

If you're looking for a K98k you might try the German dealers(Hege, cds ehrenreich, transarms, waffen bellmann etc.). Also try egun.de

At least you get an impression of the selection and the price range.
