CYQ "W" block P38, odd holster

Picked this up the other day. All-matching bring back CYQ, November '44 production, W-block. One mag, JVD marked.

The holster is thin leather, and not great leather quality. Unusual layout. No markings anywhere.

Gun is relatively unworn inside, not many rounds went through it. The hammer safety letdown lever has been tampered with though, the tab has been ground off. Either someone was playing gunsmith or it was sabotage. As a result the decocking isn't working (not that I'd use the decocker), and disassembly is difficult as the hammer must be manually released, and it takes some work to do this.

Has anyone seen a holster like this?

    Nice looking Spreewerk!

Your comments on the safety lever are not uncommon to the later Spreewerk pistols IMO.

As for the holster, it's looks very strange. Almost looks like a suede, rather than a tanned leather hide?
The pattern looks more like an Astra holster perhaps.

Also, the stitching of the belt loops is not typical of P38 holster construction. Usually, they have two rows of stitches per loop, as shown in the holster below.
