Look at the front mount/base - I think it is too narrow for a turret, no? And too "rectangular". A turret would be round near the scope ring. Looks like a commercial claw mount, typical 1930's - 1940's hunting rig.

Good observation and point Willi.....My thoughts exactly....The G43 sniper's stock looks rather bleached out, the Garand appears to have blued parts and possibly a commercial made stock or a cleaned up original, K98k snipers are being heavily reproduced....Bodes

The pictures make the mounts' surface appear machined instead of the rougher texture one would expect from a forged piece.....Also edges appear sharp where they should be more rounded....Just my impressions from the pics....Bodes
