      Hi Mike,

Did you mean "powder" flask? How big is it?

Yes--I meant powder flask. The flask is 6 inches long. Mike

          Poder flask?

Are you sure this is for powder and not a water bottle? All the flasks I,ve seen are brass or copper and have a thumb release at the top to measure the powder.Just my thoughts. Also the four rings on it don,t jive. Dan

I don't think the 4 rings for the carrying strap are a big deal, just a style. It reminds me of Imperial reservists' flasks, for example, with the strap going all the way around the bottom. The size and shape are about right for a powder flask.

What is it made of? I've only seen them in horn or metal, something that would keep powder dry.

Is there any smell to it or a residue inside?

              Got me stumped.

                Hey Mike,

While surfing through ebay I came across a shot flask that's made of leather. Maybe that's what yours is, for shot and not powder. Just and idea.
