    HSc Holster??

A little help please, I've been told this is an HSc holster, is it?
An HSc fits in nicely and fills the lumps and bumps just right.
Or were there generic holsters made?
Does it look original with correct markings?

    Thank you

        Nice holster! thumbs

The maker, "jhg" is for G. Genschow, also known as "GECO". The waffenampt is "eagle/WaA286". Date is "42", for 1942.

Geco made holsters for the Mauser HSc, as well as the Sauer 38H with this maker code, date and waffenampt. So it could be for either of those pistols.

Looking at the holster, it appears there is a dimple on the magazine pouch. This is usually a tell tale sign of a Sauer 38h magazine. If you have a Sauer mag, put it in the holster, and see if it lines up with this mark? If so, you have your answer.
If not, then it could be for a Mauser HSc.

        Hope this helps,
        Matt

Nice holster and i agree with Matt. Genschow (Geco) is a desired and known holster maker for collectors together with Akah.

Usually these holsters are marked on the inside flap with 'Mauser 7,65' or 'Sauer 38h' or.... .

But you can also determine by the cut-out as pictured below by 2 Geco holsters from my collection. Left is one marked Sauer, right is one marked Mauser. Do you notice the different 'depth' i mean?
