    Eagle stamped 8mm ammo

I just got a couple boxes of 8mm ammo, they are rimmed cartriges, and are stamped with roman numeral 8 (VIII) 1938 and the eagle/swas. mark. I am told they are 8mm steyr, and I was wondering if anyone knows about these, and if so, I would like to see a pic of the rifle they are for. Thanks in advance

    8x56mm

(8X56mm) 8mm rimmed for the Austrian Steyr Rifle.. These rounds were produced for German usage in the revamped Steyr M95 Rifle and carbine Using a 5 shot clip... Also the same round was produced by Hungary and Bulgaria...BILL

Well now that I have some ammo, I guess I should get a rifle to match. Anyone know what kind of price range I'd be looking at for an M-95 with WW2 German markings? Are they hard to find here in the US?

... I have never seen a M95 with original German markings.. There have been many imported to the US with bogus markings, burnt in to the stock, etc..I have a Upgraded 1938 M95 Carbine 'DUFFLE BAG CUT" sent home from Dachau, and it has no Nazi markings...BILL

          Bill,
Thanks for the info, I was wondering also, I've heard that the Germans never stamed the 8x57 with the eagle, but I have this sneaking feeling that I've seen some. Can you clear this up for me?

I do not know of any standard 8x57mm German ammo stamped with the Eagle and swastika..The 8mm Steyr (8x56) with the eagle is well known...There is SS marked 8x57mm Standard ammo.. BILL

              8mm rifle

you can pic up the rifle for 129, usd at any dunhams sporting goods store, also the ammo is 4.99 a box of 20 original nazi marked with striper clips. both clips and ammo is nazi marked, the styers are not marked with any german nazi marks that I could find. they are a strait pull bolt. and look to be in very nice shape.

Bill, I was wondering about the availability of the SS marked ammo, how much does it sell for?
