It's definitely a newly repainted Yugo used tripod and it's for the MG42/53 rather than the MG34. It was originally an MG34 upper section though (1939 date and buffer mount). An MG34 won't fit on this tripod!

As a general rule, being Yugo used means you need to watch out for post war parts and added Waffenampts to make them look original, like one dealer here in the UK does However, this one looks good to me. The original WW2 markings are there, but accompanied by post war stamps.

The range plate is a reproduction.

Is the optics block mount marked on the side? (The markings on the top are post war)

I totally agree with this assessment.

                    Pass.

I also agree. Not totally original, not totally MG34. Too much work to retrofit MG34 parts.

Many thanks for your oppinions ! I thing befere that it was standart to rework this tripod for MG 42 use . I have spoke with other guys here and they told me that it is a good one and for very fair price . Many thanks and best regards Thomas

It was not standard to rework for MG42 use during WWII but post war in several countries like Yugoslavia and Austria. If the price is good, buy it, but it will not be useful for an MG34 if you don't retrofit the right parts. BTW, the leather pads are not original either.
