    9 MM Broomhandle Mauser

    Hello to this forum,

I have an opportunity to purchase a WWI 9mm Broomhandle Mauser with the red 9 in the grip. It is complete with its holster, both wooden and leather components, and the whole rig is in 95% plus condition. The owner is asking $2500, which seems way too high, but he's willing to negotiate. I was going to offer $1600. Is that a fair offer? Sorry no pictures yet, but will post them if possible. Thanks, Harvey.

If the rig is indeed 95% or better and the stock is matched to the pistol, $2500 would be a fair price. I sold complete rig a couple of years ago for close to $2000 and it was not in that condition. But be sure of your serial number range and that it is not a put together with a reworked gun and new stock and leather.

I agree with Joe here. It depends on if everything is original and if matching! There are a lot of fakes out there! So know what you're looking at!

If it's all original in 95% and all matching as you say, then I would think $2500 would be a fair price. If you can get it for less, then of course by all means do so!
However, $1600 may be insulting to the owner. Depends on how well you know him?
