unknown/strange spider sight (?), help needed!

Just got this what I assume is a Spider sight for machine gun. No idea what nationality, but presumably german or german related. Some damage to the front, and totally uncleaned yet, but Looks interesting to me. Would love to find out what it is and Need help for this as I have no idea/clue where to put it.

front sight is moveable. Some screws to adjust ?

on your pic one can not really see too much.....is this a Special sight? For what purpose? More....on my example, the "Spider web" is attached to the rest. On your pic, it seems to be detached and placed somewhere else?
