Hello all,
A few friends and I are interested in learning about/replicating a Wehrmacht shooting range, (For K98 and MG34) and I was hoping to learn a bit more about this process. Here's what I've been able to discover so far:
-According to the English translation of Reibert (Baum), I can't find any information on how long the rifle shooting distances were to be in order to qualify for marksman awards. The dimensions of targets are provided (170 x 120 cm ) but no mention of range.
-So what was the range soldiers were required to hit to 170 x 120 cm targets? Was it 100 meters, as the sights are set to that?
-Finally, I was hoping to also learn about marksmanship awards (for both rifle and MG): What were the objectives to complete to earn the various degrees of marksmanship awards for rifle and MG?
Many thanks in advance for any help.
All the best,
JJ
