A guy has this for sale locally, says it's WW2 experimental, never in production. It's missing the barrel so it's just really a parts gun unless a barrel can be had. Has anybody seen one of these or know what it is ?

That's a very rare pistol right there. They were an attempt, I believe, by GW to get a hand in the small handgun dept. Alloy frames and slides, I believe for a nice lightweight .32! When the factory was overrun, apparently there were a lot of incidents by the GIs regarding the pistols and most were destroyed leaving few to be brought back. So maybe that's what happened with this one? Never fully assembled and most tend to be in the white. If it were complete, it appears most go around 8-9k. Don't know if the battle of that and a few of their contemporaries are interchangeable, but still a nice piece to have and hope a part is available if the price is right!

Yea, that's a rare pistol.
It's a pre-war commercial ("eagle/N") design made by Gustloff-Werke in an attempt to compete with the Walther PP/PPk, Mauser HSc, and Sauer 38 models. It's a double action pistol in 7.65mm (.32 ACP). However, the war broke out before it went into production, and never made it past the prototype stages.
Looking at this one though, it's missing more than the barrel and magazine. It's also missing the takedown lever/slide stop. Who knows what else????
I think finding parts for this will be extremely difficult! So, I would pass on it, unless the price is really low.
