    Sauer 38h original grips?

    Hi all, I got this bring back rig recently and I was wondering if the grips are original? I'm leaning towards yes because there is a dot of the ever present bring back white garage paint on the right grip. (Yeah, I know it's been chromed and people don't like that, but I'm happy with my pistol.)

      sorry about the light quality, I can take better pics tomorrow if necessary. There's a little bit of gun oil present, but no obvious casting marks.

        The grips are original. A pity about the cut down holster and plating, but it's a common post war attribute.

          Thank you. Yes, it is unfortunate, but I still like it for what it is. I'll make sure to get replacement grips and keep these safe.

            I'm more upset about the holster being butchered up! So sad to see a nice original holster like that.

              Yeah, it is a bummer, it's still a nice rig and shoots well though. I think it's funny that it's Czech marked, does that mean that this holster wasn't original and should have been for a Cz27?

                Yes, the holster is for a P27 (German name for the CZ27), not a Sauer 38h. It's also dated and waffenampt. Sorry I forgot to mention that in my first post. I was just so upset to see a nice P27 holster butchered up like that.

                  So, I've been shooting this pistol a bit and I think I need to replace the mag springs, would I be able to use any .32 acp magazine springs(say new made replacement PPK magazine springs for instance)? I've also noticed that every once in awhile the pistol switches to DA randomly, its not often, but what spring might I want to replace to avoid that?

                    Very fun guns to shoot.

                    Here is a link to the de-cock springs;
                    http://www.checkpointcharlies.com/ec...ck-spring.html.
                    $15 well spent. Charlie is a good friend of mine, and great guy to deal with. Tell him I sent you.

                    For the magazine spring. Try contacting Tom Heller at- lugerdoc@charter.net. I always contact him a with any magazine, or magazine parts.

                    Enjoy, and remember, be safe, and keep them in the 10 ring!
