    Advice on Selling A Rifle

I'm sure most of you here have experience selling rifles-- I could use some advice.

What would be the best way for me to sell a "sporterized" K98? Ad in the paper, gun show, gun store, etc? No FFL so I can't list in on the e-stand Thanks for your comments.

An ad in the paper will get you the most money, check you local laws about transfering ownership of firearms. Selling to a store will get you the least as they have to make money on the rifle too, but then there is no hassles and nobody calling you late at night. I don't belive you have to have an FFL to sell a rifle, just that it gets sent to one.

Over state lines shipped has to be FFL to FFL or C&R, gunshow or private transaction, just get buyers info in case of a problem and cash and carry.

Again, check state laws as in California all gun sales have to be done through a dealer. Other states may just require info. I dont know what Minnesota requires.

C&R rifle transactions in/to California go right to the licensee, no dealer involved

Rifles and pistols by federal law have to be shipped to a FFL holder. You as a seller do not need to have an FFL. You must have a singed in ink(not a copy) of the receiving FFL. I always take that to UPS or the post office to show them that is going to an FFL holder. The only exception is that an FFL holder may return YOUR firearm to you after repair or customizing.
