    Rare mp44 stock

Only ever seen one of these on Clause Espeholt site, being a scarce late war stock
and complete and matching what value would this be, it is very well made and
quite heavy in excellent condition, notice it does not have the top opening compartment, opinions please, thanks.

Do you have a close shot of the serial# on the Stock Ferrule - ?
My late war has the compartment, but no wood-finish and no grooves for the shoulder area.
I like the age and patina on yours -

I would agree with postwar....I wouldn't think a late war stock would be serial numbered.....The stock collar perhaps, but not the stock....Bodes

Metal original, post war number added 7566. Wood post war DDR. The DDR replace broke stocks since the stock needed to fire StG 44

                  Hi there,

The only late war modification mentioned in "Sturmgewehr!" is the flat sided, no ribbed version - they kept the compartment on these, and even the very late war ones had the compartment, mine is X block, which is approx March 1945.

                  Here is the book:

Here is my very late war stock - on the left:

That said your ferrule and body locking pin are textbook perfect late-war IMO.
Even down to the small serrations on the edge of the pin, are like mine.

Others here know more about Post war stocks.
