Dear friends,
This time I´ll ask for your kind help.
This weekend I bought a Mauser C-96 complete with its wooden stock and about 90% of original blue. But what lead me to bought it was a nice (and never seen before to me) mark on tits left side, inside the "square" over the pistol grip.
It is a beautiful lion holding a scimitar (a curved sword), having a rising sun behind and a crown over it. Another small "rising sun" is stamped just below the ejection window.
The caliber is the 7,63mm Mauser (or .30 Mauser) and its serial number is 154.009 (matching everything besides the stock - that doesn´t have any number). It was told to me that it is a Persin Contract and I paid for it about US$700.00 - a honest price I think, even for a standard piece. I can not post pictures, but if anyone can post it to me here I can send the images through e-mail.
However, I do not have any book about the C-96. I only know a Persin Contract of Lugers and another Turkish of C-96´s and that´s all.
Anyone has any additional info about it? When this contract was made? How many? Is it rare (price?) ?
Well, I´m looking forward for your comments.
Regards,
Douglas Aguiar
