French collector help

Hi !
I'm going to an military fair, an I'm planning to buy several deactivated amunition of 7,92mm, but due the sad recent events at Paris I'm worried to carry this kind of stuff, so please muy question is to any french collector that could tell me if neutralised ammo is of free tenance in France or an licence is required?

I believe deactivated ammo is free in France. I used to go to fairs in France and buy live ammo also without problem...but that was some years ago. I now have a Spanish Ammo Collector License for live ammo, that entitles me to buy and transport my ammo but not sure of present day regulations in France. Travelling by plane might make it more complicated if you are living in an island.

I'm sorry to tell you that, but you have to know that in France ammo are never considered as deactivated, even if there is hole in the case.
it's due to the French law.... they forgot to think about ammo

the best way to go was to ship a parcel by post and to write on the label what is inside,... "deactivated ammo , without any powder" , but that was before...

and hope the police in your country are less nervous that they are here.

to be honest I won't do that now.... I'm pretty sure the Police will deliver the parcel to you at home with a nice paper from a judge to allow them to visit your house.

Agree with what Fred just has wrote.
Cases, shells are considered as classified in the different existing categories (even with a hole from a pure legal text reading).
Except for flare guns , you just need to be +18. To simplify, the others need a license. Could be a simple French hunting license or other types (sportive shooting license).
For the caliber you are mentioning I'm afraid you may take some riskS and especially when coming back in your country or even during any control (in case of a simple accident for instance).
It's your decision but, I should recommend you to buy these things in your own country if it's free to own ...

Le décret défini ainsi la neutralisation des munitions :
« munition dont le projectile a un diamètre inférieur à 20 mm et dont la chambre à poudre présente un orifice latéral d’un diamètre au moins égal à 2 mm ne contenant plus de poudre et dont l’amorce a été percutée. Cette opération est réalisée par un armurier. »

That means fired ammunition and one 2mm diameter hole in the case. BUT The problem is not France it is WHEN you'll be back in your country if they catch you.

try to understand something in such a country when the law changes every day.
there are so many laws that it's not easy to know what is allowed now wheras before it was forbiden , or the opposite...


so if I want a 7.92 deactivated ammo , I need ask a gundealer to buy one, to make the hole in the case , and to sell it to me
do I need to ask him a deactivated certificate?

and don't forget that armor percing, tracers, inciendiary ..... bullets, are forbiden.
cat A1. even if they are on a case with a big hole on it

so hope for you you want to buy s.S ammo, because SmE,SmK, PmK , Beo, SmkL'spur are forbiden.

Une munition de categorie B percutee (noyeau metallique) et ayant la douille percee est consideree neutralisee fait par un armurier ou pas.
Les incendiaires traçantes ou autres ne sont plus autorisees ( l ont été)

Ok everyday is more complicated to collect ammo, due nonsense laws, and after the recent sad events it would be worst in the whole Europe.
